Woodfired Stoneware and Paintings

Studies of natural vessels provide the inspiration for my ceramic forms and original oil paintings, which convey the beauty of flowers, seeds, shells, and fruits. My pottery forms are all functional, formed mostly using a wheel and hand building, then fired in a wood burning ‘anagama’ kiln that I built at my studio in Shrewsbury.

During the winter months I devote my creative energy to oil painting a variety of subjects that have visual interest for me.

My pottery is wood fired with softwood, which is usually cut and left unused as loggers access hardwood trees, and I recycle all clay scraps.
