Lately my focus has switched to smaller 2D work, and away from the mixed media sculpture of the past.  I’m trying to invent a more manageable life.

The newer pieces use acrylics and inks on paper or board surfaces that are prepped first with acrylic color washes. Using my own journal sketches for inspiration, the compositions are often planned carefully in advance. Working with inks and line is my best way to start off, then slowly introducing still more color, with lots of changes and modifications.  I take my time which can sometimes be aggravating, sometimes fun.
