Instructions for adding an event to vermontvacation.com
Here is what you need to do this.
Five (or fewer) pictures that are about 600 X 375 or so pixels. (A useful skill is knowing how to resize a jpg)
Up to 150 words about your event.
About half an hour of your time.
Getting Started Go to http://vtevents.com and find the button on the top right that says “+ Add Event”.
You will have to create an account (free) with user name and password. A confirmation email will be sent to you.
Once you respond to the "confirmation e-mail" indicating you did wish to register, you'll be able to add events immediately. But not until you respond to the confirmation e-mail.
Here are comments from the Department of Tourism and Marketing:
There are a number of great functions to this FREE service including the ability to post event series, post images and video, and link events directly to Facebook and Twitter. Everwondr also has excellent customer service. Once you are registered you can see their instructions at http://everwondr.com/helpdesk and request technical assistance by clicking on the red SUBMIT TICKET button. For more information contact Hillary DelRoss at Hilary.DelRoss@vermont.gov.
For a one time $25 fee and more exposure (this is an additional registration) you can register your business or organization with the Vermont Travel Planner (https://vermontvacation.com/plan-your-visit/travel-planner). This registration is being managed by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. For more information contact Bryson Lowry at 802.262.2114 or email@example.com
Continuing to Create the Listing
What took me the longest time was choosing and resizing the pictures that I wanted to upload.
When you get to the Add Tags section you should consider adding groups of words that visitors might use to find your event. Each group can be counted as one tag. For example, I used Vermont Studio Tour, Open Studio Weekend, Art Tour, Artists Demonstrations, as tags even though they were repetitious. Be sure to put a comma after your tag and this will automatically add it to the tags.Back to Participants' Resources Page
